About the Recipe
Prawns Koliwada is a crispy fried prawn appetizer, that is moderately spiced coated in a gram and rice flour marinate. Once fried these prawns are super crunchy and will be devoured immediately.
Ingredients
250gm Prawns
4-5tsp of SPICEBAY® Prawns Koliwada Masala
2 tbs lemon juice
1 tsp salt
2 tsp Gram flour
1 tsp all purpose flour/Rice flour
1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
2 tsp yogurt
1 pinch ajwain
1 cup oil for frying
Preparation
Step 1
Peel and devein the prawns, wash thoroughly and pat dry.
Step 2
Marinate the prawns with SPICEBAY® Prawns Koliwada Masala, 1 tbsp lemon juice and salt for 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 3
Squeeze out the extra moisture, add all-purpose flour, gram flour/besan, 1/2 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder, rest of the lemon juice, yoghurt and 1 tsp of oil.
Step 4
Mix all the spices with the marinated prawns.
Step 5
Prepare oil for deep frying, Add the marinated prawns in the hot oil in batches, and fry till they turn a rich golden brown on both sides.
Step 6
If you want to avoid deep frying, arrange the marinated prawns on an aluminium foil in a baking tray, drizzle a little oil on the prawns, and BROIL on HIGH, 5 to 7 minutes on both sides or until they turn a light golden brown.
Step 7
Serve Koliwada Prawns masala with green chutney or ketchup.
